Facebook Launches 'Reaction' Buttons
It's been in the pipeline for a while that Facebook users can now 'react' with five different emoji buttons as well as the long standing like button.
When early reports of changes to the simple like button suggesting the addition of a 'dislike' button, Facebook responded expanding the range of reactions to more appropriately provide ways for people to respond.
Users can choose a reaction by holding down the like button on mobile or hover over the like button on desktop to reveal the emojis.
At this stage all reactions will be considered by the News Feed algorithm in the same way as a 'like' with Facebook looking to rank posts based on the data it gathers from reactions.
